ABOUT ME
If we would have met when I was eleven years old and you asked me what I wanted to be when I “grew up,” I probably would have told you a therapist. The road there was not exactly straight though. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with Bachelors of Arts in Anthropology and Spanish, I can’t say that I had a very clear idea about a career. I worked for several years in the corporate world, but never felt satisfied and continued to come back to the idea of becoming a therapist. In 2009, I enrolled in the Mental Health Counseling program at the University of North Florida and finally felt settled. I graduated with my Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling in 2011 and attained my professional license as a Mental Health Counselor in 2014. Looking back now, I realize that my eleven year old self knew all along.
Throughout my career, I’ve focused on working with children and their families in a variety of settings, including offices, schools, homes, runaway shelters, and military installations.
I’m the mother to two energetic and opinionated boys and a wife to a husband who is equally, if not more, opinionated. In my free time, I tend to my orchids and plumeria, entertain my sons, read, cook meals that are typically missing a few key ingredients, and go to the beach.
